I grew up in the New York-New Jersey area, fishing for most anything I could find. It seems I was always taking photos but I began showing a bit of talent at Notre Dame shooting football. I wrote my first article for Salt Water Sportsman magazine in 1969 and continued to provide stories and photos to literally every sport fishing publication ever since. I have always been an avid fisherman, especially fly fishing, and have held over two dozen IGFA world records. At present I am a Founding Member of the Bonefish Tarpon Trust and on their Advisory Board. For a few years I served on the Board of Trustees of the American Fly Fishing Museum in Vermont. Now as a retired Miami trial attorney, I am a professional photographer and author and an International Game Fish Association Representative for North America. My two books, “THE BEST FLY FISHING TRIPS MONEY CAN BUY”(Stackpole 2006) and “FLY FISHING DAY DREAMS’ (Skyhorse Publishing, 2011) are pretty much out of print, but my tarpon photography is displayed in Andy Mill’s “A PASSION FOR TARPON” ( Wild River Press 2010) which was an instant classic and is still available.
I shoot with top-of-the-line Canon equipment and use a Nauticam housing for my underwater photography. All my photos are shot in raw format and can be printed in any size imaginable. They are all available for personal use as well as commercial use. If you wish to purchase any of my photos, it’s best to take a screen shot of it and email it to me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
I spend as much time as possible either on or under the water, mostly with a camera but sometimes with a fly rod. I am frequently invited to ride along with guys fishing just so I can take photos, which I appreciate greatly. I haven’t figured out how to catch fish and photograph them at the same and photos are what’s important these days.
I travel to as many exotic fishing lodges as I can and most but not all of them have photos in my ‘Destinations’ galleries. I give instructional seminars on ‘How To’ photography and on my favorite and most recent trips. I believe in sharing my photos because they aren’t much good if no one ever sees them. My friends at Sharkdivermagazine.com came up with the motto: Die with Memories, not Dreams” and I intend to do exactly that. Cheers!
